Kalighat Kali Temple is a Hindu temple located in West Bengal, India. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali and is one of the 51 significant pilgrimage sites where it is believed that the various parts of the goddess Sati’s body had fallen. Kalighat represents the site where the toes of Sati fell. The temple was built on the bank of the Hoogly River in the city of Kolkata but the river has since changed course and the temple is now on the banks of a connecting canal called Adi Ganga.
