Situated in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh, the city of Comilla is conveniently set along the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. Ancient Comilla is said to be one of the three oldest cities in Bangladesh and serves as the administrative centre of the area. Visitors can look forward to exploring the Mainimati Ruins, one of the most famous Buddhist archaeological sites in Bangladesh as well as viewing Dharmo Sagor, a large lake covering almost 10 hectares in the heart of Comilla. Surrounding the city are other historic attractions including a historic Second World War cemetery and the beautiful stone Shah Shuja Mosque.
